APACUE’s fall and winter professional development sessions will focus on a theme of

Making Connections through Social Media

 

November 17:  (One hour via Blackboard Collaborate) - 2PM (Dr. Amy Thurlow, MSVU) Amy Thurlow

●     Review the features of major social media
●     Provide more detailed information on establishing and
cultivating Twitter networks
●     Discuss methods of measuring effectiveness

February 16: (One hour via Blackboard Collaborate)

●     Share our experiences with social media to date,
●     Present further advice on effectively managing our social media accounts
●     Solicit suggestions for further PD sessions

June 7: (One hour live session at Spring Forum hosted by St. Francis Xavier University)

●     Review and analyze collected data on social media use.
●     This hands-on session will assist continuing education units to evaluate their practices with regard to social media.

 

All member institutions are encouraged to participate in these events. Suggestions and feedback are welcome.

Note: Blackboard Collaborate is a web conferencing tool.  All you need is a headset with a microphone to participate.  After you register for a Professional Development session you will be sent an Internet link to access the Collaborate application online.
